The Kitchen Table is a project to redistribute surplus food in the Newport, Central and Hemlington areas of Middlesbrough.

Working with local supermarkets and food shops, surplus produce is collected and made available to communities on a 'pay as you feel' basis.  This has been through weekly stalls in accessible locations and currently, in partnership with the Ubuntu Multicultural Centre CIC, who are distributing food parcels to families in need.

The Kitchen Table also works with local growers and allotment holders to generate surplus produce, supporting the Alley Pals Community Allotment in West Lane, and the Linx Community Allotment in Hemlington.

As of May 2020, the Kitchen Table had redistributed nearly 1000kg surplus produce!

The Kitchen Table is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund with surplus food collections facilitated by Neighbourly.
