'An Apple A Day' aims to improve the mental wellbeing of adult men in Middlesbrough by working with them to maintain a heritage orchard in Acklam.
The orchard has over 100 fruit trees, split between apples, pears and plums, which are arranged in concentric circles. We usually spend Monday afternoons pruning, collecting fruit and tackling small conservation projects.
Any men from the town experiencing mental health challenges are welcome to join us. It's free to come, no experience is necessary and we're a friendly bunch who will make you feel part of a team!
This project is kindly funded by the Tees Suicide Prevention Task Force.
