Who we are and what we care about
Barefoot Kitchen CIC has a small team who operate on a co-operative basis: all workers have parity of pay and position and we make the most of our skills, experience and natural areas of interest.
We are a social enterprise, which means that we take a fair wage with profits reinvested in projects that have an identified community need or benefit.
Barefoot Kitchen CIC is managed by a board of four Directors, who ensure that we are compliant and effective in the work that we set out to do. We also have a community panel, which includes volunteers, people within our community and representatives of our partner organisations.
There is more information below about our key staff and the people that make up our governance team.

Catherine has 15 years experience in environmental projects that include food growing and horticulture, community development, sustainable materials, recycling and 'zero waste.' She has worked both within the community and with organisations of variable sizes, including in the private and voluntary sector and with local authorities. She is a passionate advocate of community activism, keen walker and loves sharing what she knows with others so that they too may have a 'Tread Lightly' impact on the planet. She also loves creating beautiful spaces for people to enjoy!
